Gael Clichy Worried about His Place in France World Cup Squad

Arsenal left back Gael Clichy has already made it to the France’s final world cup squad. However, the 24-year-old is still worried about his chance to travel with the France squad to South Africa. France coach Raymond Domenech recently cut his 30-man provisional squad to 24 by excluding 6 players. He just kept one extra player as back up for William Gallas whose availability is doubtful due to his injury.

However, the squad has already been 23 as Real Madrid defender Mahamadou Diarra has been ruled out for the world cup following his recent injury. Though the squad is still 23, there is every possibility Domenech could replace someone with one of the excluded members of the provisional squad.

That is why, Gael Clichy is worried about his place. This is going to be his first international tournament with France national team. He failed to make it to the France squad for Euro 2008.
